Frequently asked questions.

What are your rates?

I’ve curated three specialized collections tailored to meet the unique needs of schools and homeschool co-ops. I'm also happy to craft a custom collection perfectly suited to your requirements. Please visit my investment page for details.

What if a parent/guardian doesn’t sign a photo release?

As a professional who has worked with children for over twenty years I will always hold to the standard of a photo release. Any child I photograph must have written permission from a parent/guardian. If there is a child/children within a class/group that doesn’t have a photo release I will not photograph them in any identifiable manner. If a child with a photo release asks me not to photograph them I will respect that request and not photograph them in any identifiable manner. I take this subject very seriously and will work with the school to make sure everyone feels safe. I have a great deal of experience photographing groups where one or more children can’t be photographed.

Will your presence distract our students or teachers?

I have been a documentary photographer since 2002 and two of my superpowers are to remain boring and invisible :) some children might be distracted for a few minutes but it never lasts long. By the time I arrive at your school the teacher(s) have already communicated that I am there to document part of the day so the kids know that there is no need to pose. I remain aware of the teacher(s) and photograph when it is appropriate. I bring the proper lenses which allows me to not be in anyone’s face with a camera. My mission is to capture true moments of joyful connection and learning and to tell the story of your school, I do everything in my power to remain that proverbial fly on the wall.

How many photos will we receive?

Typically there is a minimum of 50 photos per hour.

What is the benefit of documenting our school or homeschool co-op?

Practically these photos can be used for social media, websites, yearbooks, newsletters, brochures, ID badges, fundraising, slideshows and more. They also make great gifts for parents, teachers, principles and staff. But really, it’s more. Your school is unique and sharing your story can boost community engagement, reach a broader community, strengthen school support and aid enrollment.
